About the Project

Building the Future of Performance Design

Taylex Group Middle East were the Official Build Partner for World Stage Design (WSD) 2025 — a prestigious global celebration of performance design making its Middle East debut in Sharjah.

Renowned for transforming creative ideas into exceptional physical experiences, Taylex brought its expertise in live events, exhibitions, and brand experiences to deliver a large-scale, immersive, and sustainable build across three iconic venues:

  • Sharjah Performing Arts Academy (SPAA)
  • Bait Obaid Al Shamsi
  • Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTIP)

This milestone project marked the sixth global edition of WSD, and the first-ever hosted in the Middle East — positioning the UAE as a growing global hub for creative and cultural innovation.

A Global Festival, Reimagined in Sharjah World Stage Design (WSD) is the only international event dedicated to celebrating excellence in scenography, stage, lighting, sound, and production design.
Held every four years in a different country, it’s often described as the “Expo” of the performing arts and performance design sectors.

This year’s festival ran from October 18–25, 2025, transforming Sharjah into a vibrant centre for creative exchange, innovation, and collaboration.

Together with Sharjah Performing Arts Academy (SPAA) and the International Organisation of Scenographers, Theatre Architects and Technicians (OISTAT), Taylex Group Middle East helped shape a festival that connects heritage and innovation — inspiring the next generation of creative professionals.

Outcome

Three Venues. One Vision.

Delivering across three distinct venues, Taylex created a unified experience that reflected Sharjah’s cultural heritage and forward-thinking creativity.

Sharjah Performing Arts Academy (SPAA)

As the Middle East’s only dedicated performing arts academy, SPAA provided the creative heartbeat of the festival. Taylex’s precision-led approach integrated seamlessly within the Academy’s live academic environment — building exhibition spaces, staging, and technical infrastructure designed to support global-scale performances and design showcases.

 Bait Obaid Al Shamsi

This beautifully restored 19th-century heritage home in Al Shuwaiheen connected Sharjah’s cultural roots to contemporary creativity. Taylex ensured a heritage-sensitive build approach — blending modern exhibition design with architectural integrity to create an inspiring and respectful event space.

Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTIP)

A symbol of innovation and sustainability, SRTIP became a showcase for modular, adaptable construction. Taylex’s flexible build system integrated seamlessly within this innovation-driven environment, supporting bold, technology-led installations and large-scale interactive designs.

Sustainable by Design

As the region’s exclusive beMaster Partner for beMatrix, Taylex Group Middle East led one of the most sustainable builds in WSD’s history.

Over 80% of the event build was delivered using fully sustainable materials and methods, powered by the beMatrix reusable frame system — drastically reducing waste and carbon emissions without compromising creativity or quality.

Build by the numbers:

  • 450 beMatrix frames, ranging from 992mm x 496mm to 2976mm x 992mm, including curved sections

  • 1,500 connectors and components

  • 118,880 individual parts engineered for precision, adaptability, and reusability

  • 3,847m² of total floor space built across three venues

  • 80% sustainable materials used throughout

This modular approach delivered smarter, cleaner, and faster construction — connecting without tools, minimizing on-site waste, and setting a new standard for responsible event production.
